A five-minute lehenga fitting video does not belong in WhatsApp. Neither do RAW photographer files, venue PDFs or the only copy of the Anand Karaj schedule. Give them one named home, the right permissions and an owner.

Choose by job
Do not make one service do everything
Use a shared folder for work that changes. Use a transfer link for one finished delivery. Check the provider’s current storage, expiry and privacy terms before uploading.

Best for: A tidy shared archive
Useful when the photographer or creative team already works in Dropbox and folders need to sync to computers.

Not every wedding file belongs in the family link
View-only by default
Give edit access only to the people who maintain that folder.
Keep contracts private
Vendor contracts, payment proofs, IDs and guest addresses need a restricted folder.
Check transfer expiry
A one-off transfer may expire. Download it before forwarding the link to family.
Archive, then revoke
After delivery, keep two copies and remove old public links or upload requests.
Make the link findable
